One thing we are reminded to consider and put words to here in CGA is why? Why are we doing this program? Why do we want/need to be here?
This question of why changes our perspective from the what of going to class and receiving training to the Kingdom purpose for us raising funds, living in constant community, and working hard at what we do.
Last week the question was posed to us again. Why are you here in CGA? As I thought about it there were three things that came to mind as to the purpose and reasoning behind why I want/need to be here for this time. Here is what I realized.
Why CGA?
1. Because I have a calling on my life to redeem broken families by being a pillar of support, service, and example.
2. Because I have a desire to make inter-generational ministry possible as a means to redeem families and relationships.
3. Because I need to continue to learn to trust both people and God in an environment where I am forced into due to constant community.
And with these reasons why I want/need to be here, it makes the what that much more enjoyable and possible for me to do. It makes the hundreds of spreadsheets mulled over and created, the thousands of folders created and mailed out, the many emails sorted and responded to, and the various events planned and executed so much more enjoyable and worthwhile when I understand and remember why it is that I am doing them.
I could do all these things just for the sake of doing them, or I can do them with the purpose of bringing the Kingdom and suddenly, everything is so much more worthwhile and I can sit at my desk in a cubicle all afternoon and not freak out and panic over needing to do more with my life.
I realize that if I were not sitting at this desk doing these seemingly menial tasks, there would be a part of the Kingdom that is missing and not getting sent out. It makes the frustrations, stress, and busyness of life here at CGA so much more worthwhile.
But in all of this I know that I cannot sit here and do these things and help bring the Kingdom without your support. I rely on all of my supporters’ prayers and financial giving in order for me to do these things and live out my calling. And for that I say THANK YOU!
However, I am behind on my funding for this semester. I have created a new visual tool to keep up with my funding and what I still need to raise to complete my time here in Georgia for this season. I am growing a tree…
My desire is that this tree will grow tall and strong. But it cannot do that without your help. For each $15 that is donated to my account, another leaf is added. When the leaves reach the top of the board, I will have reached my fundraising goal.
Will you help me live out my calling and be a part of helping to bring the Kingdom both here in Gainesville and around the world through our hundreds of missionaries on the field? If so, just click on the “Support me” tab at the top of this blog.
