I want to introduce all of you to my little sister, the newest Mrs. Walker!  This past Saturday she married her Mr. Right.

She met Matthew back in March of last year.  I was away at school and did not get to actually meet him until that summer.  Then I left the country.  But I kept in contact with my sister and asked regularly about Matthew.  Then in November, while I was in Japan, I received a message from her that she was engaged!

I was thrilled.  I celebrated with her from the other side of the world and cheered her on in her preparation to become a wife.

Three months later, while I was in Cambodia, she asked me to plan a bridal shower for her for our church families.  I was excited to plan the shower, but also trying to figure out how I was supposed to do it from Africa, which is where I was about to spend the next 3 months.

But with her help and the help of our mom, I pulled a guest list together and created the invites.

So I returned to the States at the end of May and made it back to Mississippi the first weekend in June.  I pulled the final details of the shower together and we gathered to celebrate Christina and the next season of her life.

Then I left the state again and traveled around visiting other friends and family as well as working camp. All the while, beginning to help her plan her wedding. I moved to Georgia and continued to help her pull details together from a distance, supporting her and encouraging her as she prepared for October 17.

So early Thursday morning I drove to Mississippi and went into full on wedding prep mode.  With the help of the mothers and her soon-to-be husband, we got the church/reception hall ready for a wedding.

Then the day finally arrived and I had the distinct privilege to stand by her and she joined her life with Matthew.

I cannot be more proud of my sister and all that she has accomplished and done in her life.  And I wish her and Matthew all the best as they move forward in this journey of life that they now get to experience together!
