So last week I said goodbye to FUGE. This week I get to tell you why!
Since I started in CGA back in September, I have been apprenticing with Parent Ministry. This was a position I was uncertain of when I was initially placed in the department. However, it didn’t take long before I fell in love with the ministry, the department, and the parents we have the privilege of serving and working alongside throughout the year. I found my niche and loved it.
In December, one of my supervisors approached me and asked what I wanted to do after I finished CGA. At that time I told him I was going to be working camp for the summer and then I had no idea what I was going to do in August. But the desire to stay around Gainesville or at least within the Adventures community had been blooming and growing. He then asked me if I would consider working full-time with Parent Ministry. I told him I would love to.
Not much was mentioned about it until the end of January. He approached me again and asked if I was still interested in coming and working with the department. I said I was. He then asked if I would be willing to not work camp. I said if the opportunity is the right one, then yes. I didn’t think too much more about it until a few weeks ago.
It happened the day before I received the message saying I was fully funded. (That was an incredible week!) Joe asked to meet with me. I said sure and set up a time to meet with him. I had no idea what type of meeting I was walking into. Most of our other department staff was out of the country for ministry that week, so I sort of thought it was in regards to that aspect and the fact that he was about to leave as well.
But then he offered me a job!
He asked if I would be willing to come on full-time as the Parent Ministry Associate as soon as I finished CGA. It took me a second to respond, because I was so shocked. He continued to explain the position as I tried to wrap my mind around the gift that was being placed in my lap. When I finally realized the fullness of the offer, I accepted with great excitement and joy.
So with that I am announcing to the world that come May 6, I will be the new Parent Ministry Associate working full-time with Adventures in Missions!
I AM SO EXCITED!
Thank you all for walking with me through this journey as God has grown me and molded me into who He needed me to be in order to fill this position. Your prayers for direction in my life have been answered!
